interesting times out here at Augie...went to an open Q&A session with the current Presidential candidate yesterday - Mr. Bahls (pronounced "Mr. Balls"...yes, you read that right...the next President of Augie could be President Bahls - its almost too easy...) he is currently the Dean of Capitol Law University in OH, doesn't have a PhD and his background is in Agricultural Law...perfect fit for a Liberal Arts Undergraduate Institution right? you can just imagine the questions that came out of the faculty yesterday...the jury is still out on this guy as far as I am concerned - I think he would a great fundraiser for the college and has already stated that he would hire a new Academic Dean that has experience "rooted in the Liberal Arts"...he kept saying that he wants to facilitate for the college and not micromanage which I believe may work well for the college right now...as far as the rest of the college's opinion, I think that if the Board presented Jesus Christ himself as the next potential President the faculty would question whether He would "embody the Liberal Arts ideals" enough for Augustana...I just love watching fireworks...
